Hello,

Dialogue is a Common Lisp tool to easy write dialogs using the Java
Standard Widget Toolkit (SWT) and Foil (a Foreign Object Interface for
Lisp). It provides an abstract layer over the controls and layout
capabilities found in SWT.

This version includes many enhancements, more examples, new utilities
and a cells editor (see screenshots).

Installation of the Java stuff and Dialogue is a snap! On LispWorks
for Windows, at least.

Dialogue 1.0 is available from
http://www.algo.be/cl/dialogue/index.htm

Enjoy,

This is lovely!

It seems that there are beginning to be a wide range of good examples
of interesting lisp-based GUI gizmos (i.e., not just standard HTML):
this one, Kenny's tutor, our Ajaxy vBBL, the KnowOS listener (simpler
than these others, but sort of cool). Since "can you go fancy web- and
non-web based graphics?" is a common question here-abouts, I'm
wondering whether there shouldn't be a special section of the CLD that
points to these examples (and others), along with screen shots if
possible, so that we can point people there when this comes up? Of
course, some of these aren't trivial-to-use package (esp. ours!) but at
least they are there to point at when folks claim that Lisp is weak in
the GUI area. (Of course, it's a silly claim because Lisp is just the
language; really it's a claim regarding the available packages, but as
these and other examples point out, we can talk Java, Javascript/Ajax,
Tk, and all that other good stuff just as well -- better in fact in
many ways! -- as the usual suspects.)

I think the easiest way to do this with CLD is to create new tags in
the tag hierarchy:

  http://www.cl-user.net/asp/map

If you provide suggestions, I will take care of creating the tags. As
for the screen shots, it is already possible to add them via HTML
fields. See for example:
