Has anyone tried to get CLSQL to work with SBCL 1.0 on an Intel
Macintosh (OS X 10.4)? I know it's not one of the supported platforms,
but since OpenMCL currently does not do x86, I would like to know if
there are any options available to me. The database I would like to
hook into is MySQL, by the by.
Cheers,

Lispworks? AllegroCL? Yes, these mean taking out a second mortgage on
your HDTV... <sigh>

Not sure what you're getting at... those two aren't supported on OS X
for CLSQL, either, as far as their platforms page is concerned.

Huh? LispWorks 5.0 runs on OS X Intel.

otoh, if mysql runs there and lw5 runs there and clsql runs on non-intel
OSX and clsql is a portable CL wrapper and LW has mysql support ... ?

Not fully tested but...
Step1: install mysql from darwin ports. You need the header files
and the libmysqlclient library.
Step2: (cribbed from
http://lists.b9.com/pipermail/clsql-help/2005-November/000519.html)
In lisp:
(asdf:operate 'asdf:load-op :clsql)
(in-package :clsql)
(setf *default-database-type* :mysql)
(clsql:push-library-path "/opt/local/lib/mysql/")
;;ending slash is important.
(asdf:operate 'asdf:load-op 'clsql-mysql))

Thanks, Kirk.
