On air...
For Your Information:
As some of the #lisp people on irc.freenode.net knows
I'm (together with two geek friends from fazlamesai.net)
producing a technology program called Fazla Mesai on a
Turkish TV: http://www.teknolojitelevizyonu.com
which broadcasts over cable and sattelite (including the
whole Europe).
It is seldom that we don't mention Lisp this way or the
other on every Wednesday evening between 21:30 - 22:40.
Whenever possible we try to show something related
to Lisp, audiovisually. This means... yes, videos.
What have we done until now? Well, we talked about
an article which included a nice Flash formatted
screencapture (prepared by BM) that showed what
it is like to use Emacs and Lisp. It generated some
interest from the audience (in addition to e-mails
and forums we also accept live feedback: Jabber, ICQ,
MSN, etc.)
What else? Fractals of course. Many many fractals
that were produced using Common Lisp.
Which was the star? Of course the videos from Rainer Joswig,
especially the latest, the biggest, the coolest one
featuring Genera running on a Lisp Machine (like no other).
Last we week we ran those videos (proudly brought to you
by a Debian GNU/Linux running laptop ;-) and people were
devastated. We said that, yes, these scenes reflected
what Lispers were enjoying in mid-80s. It was quite a Lisp
show on TV!
As long as they don't kick me out of the program (they
didn't for the last 21 weeks) I'm open to suggestions
on Lisp propaganda. Write to me about materials, especially
audiovisual materials. Videos, videos and videos (maybe
some MIDIs or MP3s too, we had a program on AI and Music
but it wasn't much about Lisp).
Something strange is going in this part of the
world and some young people are talking about Lisp.
Just wanted to inform you about the news.
Happy hacking,
