Overview:
Position available for highly motivated Common Lisp developer in a
research and development environment. You will work with Research
Scientists with backgrounds in Sociology, Psychology, Linguistics,
Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Quantum Physics and
Philosophy. You will have an opportunity to work on new and
revolutionary data representations and processing systems for
real-time prediction and scenario modeling.
Description:
The ideal candidate will have excellent skills as a computer scientist
and software engineer. You will be developing software in Common Lisp
and must be fluent in standard software development practices on
current operating systems. You will have experience using Lisp to
analyze large datasets. Innovative problem solving and human
interaction are key.
+ Work as a researcher and team member to develop data analysis
techniques and predictive tools using computational linguistics,
econometric and financial data.
+ Design and implement maintainable software in Common Lisp based on
loose specification and with a high degree of independence.
+ Interface Lisp with, and build solutions in, other languages such as
Java, Fortran, or Visual Basic if necessary.
+ Familiarity with SQL and specifically Oracle 9i RDMBS is very much a
plus.
+ You should be comfortable in a growing, fast-paced environment with
a premium on problem solving and should have the flexibility to do
whatever needs to be done to solve the problems correctly.
+ The ideal candidate will be eager to mentor other software engineers
in Common Lisp.
+ Version control using CVS, system configuration using defsystem or a
similar Lisp tool.
The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and
verbally, is a must. Fluency in Spanish language is not a
requirement.
