Position Title: Senior Software Engineer, G2 Server Technologies Group
Position Description
Senior level developer will work with G2 core product team to develop
the next generation G2 server functionality. This position revolves
around writing Lisp and C software to maintain and enhance G2,
Gensym's flagship product. This positions reports to the Manager of
Core Product Development.
Responsibilities for the position include:
- Write Lisp and C software to maintain and enhance G2, Gensym's
flagship product
- Work as part of the team that develops and maintains our object and
runtime systems, including our language, compiler, interpreter, and
back-end emitter facilities for G2 procedures and networking
capabilities
- Ensure existing high-level of performance and quality
- Design and implement new features
- Communicate new-feature impact verbally and in written form to other
disciplines within the company
- Provide continued code maintenance
- Provide development support to customer issues
- Additional responsibilities as may be requested
Requirements:
- Development work in a commercial software production environment;
ability to develop in large, complex systems
- Significant experience with Object Oriented programming and dynamic systems
- At least 3 years experience with Common Lisp and C
- Familiarity with UNIX and Windows Operating Systems
- Ability to deal with many levels of software and abstraction
- Strong analytical, writing, and verbal skills
- Overall 8-10 years commercial software development experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
