Benelux Lisp meeting in Amsterdam
---------------------------------

The Benelux Lisp User Group will have a meeting next Sunday
(the 25th of April). It starts at 15:00 in the living room of:
  Arthur Lemmens
  Kraaipanstraat 19
  1091 PG Amsterdam
  The Netherlands

The theme of the meeting is macros.

The agenda:
 - introduction round
 - macro-related talks by a couple of speakers
 - question & answer session (newbies, here's your chance to
make use of at least 50 years of collective Lisp programming
   experience assembled in one room!)
 - walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner and drinks.

There will be at least three speakers (but we hope that the
other participants won't be silent either):
 - Ernst van Waning (member of the ALU board and speaker at
several Lisp conferences) will analyze 'the smell of macros'
 - Dirk Gerrits (computer science student at Eindhoven university),
   will talk about code walkers
 - Arthur Lemmens (self-employed Lisp programmer) will show some
   real-life examples of compiler macros.

People from outside the Benelux region are also welcome, of course.
In fact, we'll probably have some guests from Germany, including
celebrities like Pascal Costanza (co-organizer of the 1st European
Lisp and Scheme Workshop and tireless contributor to comp.lang.lisp),
Mario Mommer (co-creator of common-lisp.net) and Tayssir John Gabbour
(host of the Cologne Lisp meetings).

If you intend to come, please mail me in advance (so I'll know how
many chairs I need to borrow from the neighbours, how many tables
I should book in the restaurant, etc.)

How to reach the Kraaipanstraat
-------------------------------

The Kraaipanstraat is a 5-10 minutes walk from the Amstel station.
The Amstel station can be easily reached by train, metro and car.

If you come by car: take the exit labelled "S 112" from the eastern
part (that's "Oost" in Dutch) of the Amsterdam ring. You will reach
a square called the Prins Bernhard-plein. The Amstel station is
on the left side of this square. On the right side is a pretty big
road called the Wibautstraat, which goes towards Amsterdam's centre.
Follow the Wibautstraat for about 100 meter. You will cross a canal
(this is Amsterdam, after all). About 50 meter behind the canal is
a traffic light. Go to the right, into the President Steynstraat.
Follow this road until you reach a square called the Krugerplein. Go
to the right at the end of this square, into the Schalkburgerstraat.
After about 50 meters you will see a bus stop on your right hand.
Immediately after the bus stop is the entrance of the Kraaipanstraat.
(It's easy to miss this entrance. When you reach the canal called
the Transvaalkade, you're already too far.)

If you come by train: when you leave the main entrance of the Amstel
station, you'll see the square called the Prins Bernhard-plein. Cross
the square, and go into the Wibautstraat. Then follow the instructions
above.
