FSF's Savannah system - where the GCL project is hosted - is having
problems (looks like they'll be switching to GForge, anyway, RSN), and
Camm (the GCL lead) hasn't been able to start a gcl-users mailing list
for us there.
I sent an inquiry to the email listed on CLiki a few days ago, but I
haven't heard anything back, so I thought I'd ask here on c.l.l: does
anyone have any sense of whether or not starting a GclUsersArea on
CLiki is appropriate? (Please spare the obvious jokes. ;-))
I've been working at getting a workable GCL development environment
going and have been making decent progress (hey - its one way to
learn!), and I'd like to share whatever info I have that might be
useful to other newbs trying to do the same thing.
\Example: ILISP seems to have an issue with whether or not GCL has
ANSI compatibility enabled (I think because the initial active package
differs).
There don't seem to be any distro-specific, user-oriented pages, and
the sparse 'appropriate subject matter' guidance I've managed to find
on CLiki seems a bit a vague in this respect. I don't wish to make
the effort only to irritate people and have my stuff deleted.
Mahalo and Aloha,
+Chris

You can always ask for hosting at common-lisp.net.
It is not necesary to move the whole project there. It is posible to
just host gcl-users (at) common-lisp.net, if you want.

Mario.

Good to know, and thanks.
