nearly newbie programmer, definately new to the lisp thang, but am
beginning to see the beauty of it all kind of a person. i'm reading
some documentation to bring me up to speed on the .NET environment for
work. i know, but i have to pay my mortgage... and i'm reading about
the I/O system and reading about streams and such and i'm thinking
about LISP and some of the other languages i know, specifically Perl,
and the things i know about programming in general and the thought
occurred to me that the developers of LISP really really have done
a phenomenal job on developing the LISP paradigm. way cool. i look
forward to the "aha" moment that i know is to come and the impact i've
been lead to believe will occur with it.

In my experience, once the "aha's" start, they may start to stream
in. If you're not careful, you may end up wanting to use Lisp for just
about everything.

am already there (wanting to use Lisp for just about everything), just
don't have enough overall programming experience and not nearly enough
Lisp experience... but expect to get there soon. one can only hope.

Actually, I had the Marlins in 4. Too bad that didn't work out

Yes the Yankees fans don't seem to realize that Grady Little won the
ALCS for them, it's really a miracle the Red Sox made it that far with
all the bad decisions Little made.

The Sox had a much better chance of beating the Marlins, it would have
been a better series.
To be honest with you I'm a Mets fan, but I wanted to see Boston and
Chicago, just because it would have been a killer series.
But basically when the playoffs started I had to not like Atlanta,
because all they do is lose in the postseason (I think they should
make an ML rule to not allow them into the playoffs).
For some reason I just can't stand Sammy Sosa, so I was really gunning
for the Marlins from the start of the playoffs. And I don't care who
you are, you gotta love Dontrelle.
So as far as the sorry DH AL was concerned, I've always had a thing
for the Sox (Guess it's because I hate the Yankees). So really the
only thing that would beat seeing the Sox beat the Yankees is seeing a
bunch of kids on a team with a payroll smaller than the Yankees
(useless) bullpen school the Yankees.

his ass off and ignoring his buddy trying to lift him up, just laughing
and laughing. he said it was easily his best moment ever in sports.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear the Marlins were underdogs after watching
them play the Series. The folks I hang with were surprised the Yankees
made it past the first round this year, so it was all gravy. I think
Yankee Class got them to the World Series, and after the Bosox series
they just could not get it up for... game fish?

Typical yankees fan, Can't face reality. The spankees didn't beat the

Nope really didn't matter much to me, in fact it was all the better to
watch the yankees fall to the Marlins. How pathetic is it that the New
York bullpen makes more than the entire Marlins team. And Torre did
everything he could to keep that bullpen out of the game.

He said it, but that was before a 26 year old shutout the yankees to
win the world series. But I'd have to say that compete's with Randy
Johnson's Relief win and Mariano's Blown Save to end the 2001 series
as far as recent "Great Moments" go.
I mean honestly I don't hate the Yankees so much as I hate Yankees
fans (a bunch of which are riding the bandwagon from the past few
years). You guys could probably watch them beat up on a little league
softball team and you'd want to throw a friggin ticker tape parade.

But on a friendly note:
I don't think anyone who knew the NL really thought they were, I think
all the NY sports writers just took each other's opinion's for their
own. Hell if you want to play the odds, and you had to bet you'd
always bet for the Yankees. But honestly I think the NY area sports
writers are a bunch oof idiots, my Daily paper (Bergen Record)
featured a full page article matching up the Yanks and Marlins that
was practically copied off of MLB.com.
