  I used to be a big fan of this game. But the lambda here as nothing
  to do with lambda calculus. Since the game takes place in a top
  secret scientific lab, Half-Life is a radioactivity term. According
  to the definition:

     "Half-life is the time taken for half of the radioactive 
      nuclei to decay."

  The lambda symbol is just a part of the formula. For more
