Hi
I am very very new to CMUCL and Linux. I wish to instal CMUCL in
my machine (Redhat 8). I downloaded these two tar files (
cmucl-18e-x86-linux.extra.tar.bz2 and cmucl-18e-x86-linux.tar.bz2)
from ftp://ftp.linux.org.uk/pub/lisp/cmucl/release/18e/

I extracted all these files. It created 4 folders (bin, doc, man and
lib).
I dont know how to start the CMUCL compiler. I searched in the web for
more than 3 hours but I couldn't find any thing useful.
I would really appreciate, if any one could suggest me what I have to
do next.

Thanks
Karthik

before you extract the files, cd to /usr/local, then (assuming
/usr/local/bin in in your PATH variable) simply type 'lisp' at a command
line
