We had 12 people at the CRACL meeting tonight, an increase of 50% over
last month. If this trend continues we'll need a bigger venue by August
:-)
How many people are showing up in other locales?

We tied you with 12 at our last meeting which necessitated an
emergency tabletop transplant. The staff of the rather small Chinese
restaurant we were in were forced to strip our table of it's lazy
susan, tablecloths, and all our plates, wheel out the big round piece
of wood underneath, wheel in an even bigger round piece of wood, and
reassemble everything. All with other dinners sitting around trying to
eat, etc. I got off easy with only a 30 second lecture about how I
should have called ahead as soon as I knew it was more likely to be 12
than 10.

The intellectual level needed for system design is in general
grossly underestimated. I am convinced more than ever that this
type of work is very difficult and that every effort to do it with
other than the best people is doomed to either failure or moderate
success at enormous expense. --Edsger Dijkstra
