Hallo,

a question to LISPM gurus!

I've a macivory and some Symbolics CD's. The CD named Genera
Distribution is containing some files with the extension .tape. I
know, these files are used by 'Restore Distribution'.

We would like to reanimate an old 3640. We have to reinstall Genera
and got the tape drive working again meanwhile. Now we would like to
write tapes for the 3640 using a Sun or Linux.

1. Are these files (.tape )in the Genera Distribution CD really 'tape
images'?
2. Is there a possibility to write this files to a tape?
3. How to write this files to tape ( using Unix dd, which blocksize,
etc.)

Thanks in advance

Andreas

Hallo Andreas,

Gre,
Hans
