AKCL for the SunBlade? This would make my life a lot simpler...

You might want to try GCL (Gnu Common Lisp), which evolved from AKCL.
Version 2.4.1 was released earlier this year.

(Standard caveat: GCL is not what I'd recommend to anyone just looking
for a Common Lisp, because it's not very close to ANSI; there are
better implementations available and at least some of them are free.
But if you're asking specifally for a KCL-inspired Lisp, I assume you
know what you need it for)
