There is a project called PJama for the purpose of providing orthogonal
persistency for Java programs (see
http://research.sun.com/research/forest/opj.main.html ). I'm not very
familiar with Lisp but I guess persistency is either inherent or could
easily be achieved. Please Lispers do comment on it.

I think that you may achieve *that* kind of persistence (if you relax
a bit the definition of "resumption") allmost only with SAVE-IMAGE. By
the way the PJama project is AFAIK allready dead.
