Hi guys,
I'm just now getting started on lisp and need to know of a good free
lisp client for windows. Currently i am using the unix version on our
university's server and it would be faster for me to use windows.
I don't really need fancy compiling capabilities, just something that
gives correct results. thanks

free versions of full scale commercial lisps --
* franz allegro common lisp
* xanalsys lispworks
these are probably your best ones for getting started and running
small/medium sized programs. they have all those fancy compiling
capability, but don't let that bother you -- they also give correct
results.
a gpl'd lisp
* clisp
for clisp you will almost certainly want to install and use emacs as
the front end. emacs works fine on windows too.
you might also look at
* corman lisp
it is not free but it's price is certainly in the affordable class
($100 or so)
