ASIC DESIGN MANAGER: Los Angeles, CA
The ASIC design manager will have the responsibility of leading a group of
10 to 14 ASIC Designers and project teams in the implementation of all
phases of ASIC design, The management task will include, but not be limited
to the following: design reviews, documentation, ASIC product specification
development, design verification testing generations, characterization and
evaluation. US GOVT SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
Located in Torrance, CA, the client. is a pioneer in technology for secure
data, voice, fax and other electronics communication; a leading
manufacturer
of high-grade encryption and decryption equipment used in space and other
sensitive digital communications environments; consumer products include
integrated circuit chips for encryption and decryption of personal computer
communications.
The ASIC Design Manager will be a lead or manager with 7 to 10 years of
work
experience with 5 to 7 years in a management role. A BSEE is required and a
MSEE is preferred. Will possess in-depth ASIC design skills and experience.
Will possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively
interface with internal and external customers. Ability to prepare and give
presentations. Knowledge of encryption, RISC processor, DSP, SmartCard,
USB, PCI, Card Bus and network architecture in area of ATM, Fibre channel,
Ethernet, gigabit Ethernet a plus. Excellent communication and
problem-solving skills required.
A proven leader and team builder is needed to lead and organize ASIC design
project teams. In the manager role you will interface with domestic and
foreign ASIC foundries for prototypes and production and have experience
designing radiation hardened ASIC's and state of the art FPGA design.
Responsibilities include gathering detailed design requirements, VHDL
behavior and RTL coding, synthesis, simulation, timing analysis, test
vector
generation, foundry selection trade-off, and final ASIC sign-off.
