This article is a bit like the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand -- a
seemingly minor event which will in fact result in an inevitable
cascade of consequences ending in four years of futile and
inconclusive war and the death of a generation on both sides. Even
now the CL fleet is on its way to Scapa Flow, there to wait in the
cold and wind for the final showdown which will never come.

Will they be a repeat of the tragic incident resulting in a man
in a night gown clutching a parrot and demanding a one way
rail-ticket to Leeds? Will the the Norman keep be shelled again?
Remember Scarborough!
