To all,
I have been given to understand that a recent posting of mine has
given some serious concern and I wish to apologize for any
misunderstanding on my part.
    I have been contacted by
            Kalman Reti <····@ai.mit.edu>
and informed that as the person doing Symbolics support he was not at
all familiar with the termination of support. I received the
information directly from our I.S. department and am now in the process
of trying to discover exactly what is occurring.
Thanks for the suggestions and I will clarify what occurred so that
any misunderstandings can be eliminated.
In the meanwhile, I am still looking to port the Symbolics based
development system to a more currently available piece of hardware and
will welcome any suggestions that might be of assistance.

A Follow-on:
I have spoken with a Dave Schmidt who is currently working for
Symbolics. I have also tracked down the information given to me by our IT
"wizards"
It was our IT dept. that canceled the support NOT Symbolics. The
information was passed to me in a fashion that led to a significant
misunderstanding. Symbolics will gladly offer support to those willing to
sign contracts - both hardware and software as I currently understand.
I offer once again my sincere apologies for any difficulty that this
may have caused and I hope that I have clarified this sufficiently for all
concerned.
Now, as to our IT dept. .....

He contacted you? My emails to him had met with silence. I had
assumed Symbolics was catatonic, at best.

BTW...what hardware/software does OpenGenera need to run on an Alpha.
I'd heard DEC3000 and Tru64; how about more modern hardware?
