What are the differences between the Linux free trial edition
and the commercial version of ACL5? Is the free Linux version
time-limited, or limited in any other way?

There is an expiration date on the license to use the software, a
limit imposed on the image's heap size, and no ability to save an
image. Also, the Professional and Enterprise versions have very
nice extras like a Profiler and Composer.

The Linux Trial Edition includes the profiler as well--though AFAIK
there is a nice CLIMish GUI interface to the profiler and other
standard tools via composer, which also AFAIK is not standard with any
version of Allegro CL. (Thus always an add-on paid for at extra cost.)
