I have lot of trouble getting cmucl
to work with my mandrake 6.0 instal: cmucl just segfault (both
cmu_lisp-2.4.17.tar.bz2 and cmucl-x86.linux.thread.tgz). I read it's
the fault of the glbc (i have glibc-2.1.1-16 installed the one from
mandrake 6.1 but still does not work) or the kernel, so which version
to upgrade ? Look like it works ootb with redhat 6.1 and debian but
with this damn mandrake 6.0 I haven't found a solution yet and I don't
want to install another distrib because my system is quite customized.
any help is much appreciated !

go to debian.org and try 2.4.18 . There're some memory issues with 2.4.17
with certain versions of the kernel.
[On the other hand, I still get some problems with the compiler.
If you get bitten, try finding 2.4.5]
