Does anyone know of an online retailer that actually carries Paul
Graham's "On Lisp"? I tried several stores, including amazon.com and
bn.com, but both said it was unavailable after I ordered it.

A bookstore in my local area (Columbus, Ohio, USA) would be even
better, but I've had no luck here either.

a border's opened in nashville while i was away this fall. i
noticed they have copies of both of graham's books, "ansi common
lisp" and "on lisp", as well as the 3rd edition of winston and
horn's "lisp". you should see if they'll do the transaction via
the mail. if not, let me know and i'll do the leg work for you.
(gotta encourage lispers!)

The University bookstore here in Seattle (for the University of
Washington) should have a copy -- I think I saw one a week ago, at least.
Its URL is <http://www.bookstore.washington.edu>. It has the advantage
over amazon and barnes&noble of being an independant bookstore, operated
in trust for the students and faculty of the UW -- and of having free
shipping :).

You could also try the results of searching for it on bestbookbuys.com;
its ISBN is 0130305529.

Good luck -- it's my favorite computer-related book on my bookshelf!

I got a copy just a month or so ago from amazon.com. Since I ordered the
book they sent some emails saying that they couldn't find it, but
finally they succeeded. (BTW, Barnes & Nobles gave up after a few weeks
and canceled the order automatically.)

Also, people from http://www.specialistbooks.co.uk said they were about
to receive a copy those days.

PS: Paul Graham is working in the 2nd edition of his book "ANSI Common
Lisp" (to be published in February 2001). Does anybody know whether he
has plans to write a new edition of "On Lisp"?

Try http://www.bookfinder.com

Btw, I vaguely recall seeing a copy in our B&N, so it must be available.

I ordered it from amazon.co.uk December 30th, and it has been sent now...
I'm surprised they found it so fast.
