OpenScheme is a Scheme interpreter/compiler/debugger conform to the
R4RS standard.
It is available for Intel PC with Linux or Windows [(r) Microsoft].
Since the user sees the same interface, cross-development is easy.
OpenScheme integrates a lot of interesting features, such as a regular
expression parser, object oriented system, CLOS based, console Object
Oriented interface, an unified Operating System access, a preemptive
timer library that is thread compatible.
OpenScheme includes an interpreter that performs on-flow compilation
and a compiler that produces ANSI C compatible with GCC and Visual C++
[(r) Microsoft] compilers. It also includes a command line symbolic
debugger.
OpenScheme allows to put in the same source file high level Object
Oriented code, standard Scheme, C and assembly (that breaks
portability). This feature provides an impressive power to the
development environment.

OpenScheme is distributed in a single CD that contains both the
Windows and the Linux versions, more that 250 pages of documentation
in English, plugins sources, the development kit (header files and
libraries), the (reusable) installer in source, the JED editor for
Linux and Windows written by J.Davis (JED is not part of OpenScheme).
The free version can be used for non-profit usage and can be freely
distributed. The commercial version allows profits with no-runtime and
a technical support is provided by Erian Concept.

In the future, OpenScheme will be linked to Postgres database. In
addition, it will have a complete Object Oriented GUI.
