Remember the old adage about AI and the stock market? 

"If AI were any good at predicting the stock market, AI researchers could fund
their own work."  

Well, Korns Associates is doing just that. They have a stock-picking program
that has out-performed the market and the money managers for three years of
live trading, without incurring large risks (i.e., a balanced, risk-averse
fund).  It's written in an agent-oriented flavor of Lisp called SmartLisp, and
