Proposals are being accepted for VRML 2.0 . A popular one

you can give your comment on a number of issues, including:

Moving Worlds currently includes a language field in the Script node to allow support of multiple
scripting languages. A browser can reject the script if the specified language is not understood. It
would be beneficial if at least one language were required in the spec to allow authors to write scripts
that all browsers could understand.
