Sun Microsystems Laboratories is seeking an individual contributor to
join a small team working on speech research projects. The position
involves integrating near real-time, experimental components in order
to create a robust environment for prototyping speech and interactive
voice response systems. The applicant must have experience in rapidly
developing software for heterogeneous computing environments which must
include UNIX. The applicant must also have a proven track record of
writing software ranging from sockets to interactive, end-user
applications. Experience with C, C++, and Lisp programming is essential,
as isexperience with speech I/O, natural language processing; telephony,
and TCL is desirable.
A master's degree in computer science plus 5 years of experience or a
bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience is required for this
position.
