Sorry to intrude on this group but I just wanted to illustrate
what has been done with visual interfacing with a close relative
to Lisp.
Our N!Power software, has a Scheme-like interpreter within an object
oriented framework environment that includes block diagrams for
visual programming, menus/forms, pop-ups, dialog boxes, an interpreter
command window with browser, 2D/3D graphics and
point-and-click customization tools for attaching scheme scripts to
blocks, menus or pop-ups.  These kinds of things definitely make
life easier...
