I need to take the eigenvectors of a large (eg, 1000x1000) sparse
matrix, and the only code I can find is in Fortran (the Laso2 package
from UT Austin). Does anyone know where I can find Lisp code for
this? Even code for non-sparse matrices would save me some work (eg,
Numerical Recipes-type stuff, but in Lisp).

Thanks very much for any leads or tips,

Wheeler
