I'm working on a project that involves calling a number of numerical
analysis packages from LUCID lisp.  These na packages are written in
fortran but I'm having a difficult time loading these into lisp using
the foreign function interface.

I'm running on an IBM RS6000.  I suspect that these fortran programs
must be compiled and archived in a certain way and would appreciate
any suggestions about how to proceed.
