Which Lisp implementation is most widely used with the Garnet user
interface system? I recently obtained Garnet and installed it under
CLISP on my SparcSTATION 2, but (while fascinating to play with) it's
not really *fast* enough to be "useable."
Is my ageing 2 simply not up to snuff for Garnet? Is CMU-Lisp or one
of the other implementations significantly faster than good ol' CLISP?
Is there a tweak that'll speed up CLISP?
Finally, if Garnet's beyond the grasp of my humble hardware (and lack
of budget for commercial software), what other toolkit should I look
at? I have CLX, of course, but I'm trying to learn Lisp to get *away*
from the busywork of programming...
