oh yes, anyone ever heard of such a beast?  --- i know several parser
generators (more or less {bison | yacc} equivalents) that are written in
and run under Common-Lisp, however, i never met a (lexical) analyzer
generator.  pointers to _free_ software would be most appreciated ... if
after all there is nothing appropriate we might be able to spend some
money on cheapware (cheap commercial software) as well.
