Wouldn't it be a better idea if these long conference
announcements were posted just once with multiple entires in the
"Newsgroups:" field rather than multiple postings? Readers really
don't need N different copies of a single announcement, and most news
utilites can interpret multiple newsgroup field entries to ensure only
one copy is read.
It seems that recent AI announcements are particularly
suitible for such optimization.
Network bandwidth, while large, is not infinite. Let's see
some real intelligence while we're all waiting for the artificial
variety to arrive. :-)
