Abstract:

CLiDE is a distributed, persistent object-based symbolic programming
system being implemented on the Clouds distributed operating system.
Instances of user LISP environments and knowledge bases which
encapsulate distinct behaviors are stored as large-grained persistent objects,
enabling users on many machines to share these environments and
knowledge bases via inter-environment evaluations. Support for
these large-grained objects is provided by the Clouds distributed
operating system. The CLiDE programming environment provides
a comprehensive testbed for distributed system language,
invocation and consistency semantics and an implementation
vehicle for the construction of complex systems using the
megaprogramming paradigm.
