As long as we're discussing how MACL should evolve:
1. On an error or break, one can examine the stack
in a backtrace window. It's also important to
be able to restart the computation from any point
in the stack.
2. MACL is slow and I don't understand why. The
CLs on the Sun 3s also run on 68020s and they
compile through C rather than directly to native
code. Yet they are about 4X MACL. What gives?

Some work, some won't, so what.
