I while back I posted a request for information on any LISP to
C translators. I recieved a number of responses. The majority
fell into 1 of 2 categories. The first category was:
Check out Kyoto Common Lisp. They translate into C then machine code.
The second category was:
No. But if you find out anything let me know.
---
It seems that the main problem with Kyoto (for this application) is
that it produces basically unreadable C code. The C code produced
it not meant to be a translation which is then maintainable. It
must be run, also, in an environment established by the Kyoto system.
(Which, I believe, is quite large).

p.s. this gives me an idea for a product...

Immediately after posting this I found one response that I
forgot to include. There's a company called Sapiens Software
in Santa Cruz doing something related to this sort of translation
but I don't know yet exactly what it is.

Star Sapphire Common Lisp does'nt work. Beware! I have version 1.0
which looks like a beta version that cost me more than $400. The one
individual I spoke to at Sapien was VERY nice, but the only help he
offered was advice to wait until the next release. The problems I
have are stack overflows on just about anything other thanks a few
line of code (examples) I lifted from textbooks. It gets about 3/4
through the boyer benchmark suite before rolling over dead. Their
idea is great but they have some real work to do. The manual is just
about the worst I have seen for a package that costs anything. Some
shareware documentation is far superior. I did receive a copy of Guy
Steele's book "Common Lisp" with the package. My advise is to locate
a satisfied user before you put your money down. I am in limbo
waiting for something that I can use.
