I have received several letters that can be summarized
``When, where, and what is OOPSLA?''
OOPSLA is a conference, a conference on
``Object-Oriented Programming Systems, Languages, and Applications''
it is held under the agis of the ACM. Last year's conference (the
first OOPSLA was held in Portland Oregon and attracted 1000 people
(80% from industry 90% from the US). The proceedings were published
as the November issue of SIGPLAN Notices. This year's OOPSLA will
be in Orlando Florida October 4-8. The deadline for submissions is
(as mentioned) April first. There are calls for papers in SIGPLAN
Notices, CACM, and elsewhere. The technical program chair is
